More about the Cat Hammock Bed
What this bed is used for
A hammock bed gives a cat a raised, slightly suspended resting surface instead of a flat cushion on the floor. That matters in two situations buyers keep asking about: small apartments, where floor space is already taken, and multi-cat households, where animals want to be high but still in the room. Because it hangs rather than sits, the bed also stays clear of draughts and of a vacuum cleaner, which is part of why it sells as an upgrade item rather than a replacement for a basic mat.
Frame, fabric and mounting
The sleeping surface is plush fabric stretched over a sturdy frame, so the hammock holds its shape when a cat steps in rather than sagging into a pouch. Two mounting configurations are produced: a hook version that fixes to a wall or the side of a piece of furniture, and a stand version that needs no fixing at all. Which one suits a market depends on the housing stock — renters usually prefer the stand, while markets with more owner-occupied flats take the hook version. We supply the hardware for the configuration you order; matching the fixing to the wall substrate is the installer's responsibility, so the instruction sheet we pack with each unit calls this out explicitly.
Sizes, colours and branding
Two sizes are standard, 45*30 cm and 52*30 cm, and the larger one is the volume seller for adult cats. Light yellow is the stock colour; other shades can be matched to your reference sample, though very dark colours show cat hair faster and are worth sampling before you commit. Branding goes on the fabric label and the carton rather than the frame, which keeps the tooling cost at zero for a first order.
Sampling, quality control and packing
Sampling confirms three things at once: the tension of the fabric, the finish of the frame, and the hardware that ships in the box. Bulk then runs against that approved sample. Checks cover incoming fabric and frame tube, in-process sewing and frame assembly, and a final packed-carton audit for quantity, colour and label details. Each unit is packed one piece per box in an export carton, and the flat frame profile keeps carton volume down compared with a rigid cat bed of the same footprint.
Buyer questions
- Can the hammock hold a large cat? The frame and fabric are specified for the size you order; tell us the target animal weight and we will confirm the construction before sampling.
- Do you supply the wall fixings? Yes, for the hook configuration; the installer still has to match the fixing to the wall type.
- Can we mix sizes in one carton? Yes, mixed cartons are possible as long as the marking and packing list reflect the mix.
- Can the plush be replaced with a woven fabric? Yes — the surface can be changed, and we will quote against the fabric you choose.
